Motivation Mondays

Another new week to look forward to! I wanted to leave you guys with a little insight on faith today.

A lot of people think that they need to be at a certain place in life, or that they need to hit a particular milestone by a specific age, based on how others are living their lives. With the influence of social media and added pressure from society, it can definitely be hard to figure out what the next best step is for you personally. Each and every single person has a unique journey that they’re meant to embark on, so it really cannot be compared to anyone else. With that being said, sometimes the best things in life aren’t the ones that you plan.

Whether you believe in God, another spiritual figure or the universe, I truly believe that there’s a greater plan far better than any of us could think up for ourselves. Sometimes you just need to trust that higher being and have faith that things will work out just as they should. I’ve personally found that when I give up stressing over the outcome of a situation and allow myself to fully put my trust in god and the universe, the blessings start flowing in. So for those of you who are not getting what you think you want right now, just remember that there is a greater plan for you and that it’s going to take a lot of patience and a greater amount of faith.

Friday Favorites

Its Friday, which means you all get a glimpse into another one of my favorites! Now I know I’ve been really amping up the Japanese skincare products, but I have one more to share with you and I promise it’s my last.. for now anyways! I added in this Naturie Hatomugi skin conditioner to my daily routine a few months ago and can honestly say that I’ll never go back to life without it.
Hatomugi is a Japanese term that also comes from the terms “Job’s tears” or “Coix seeds” Job’s tears is rich in a Vitamin B3, which is known to brighten the skin and even out your complexion. It also contains peptides, which help to aid in rebuilding collagen, elastin and keratin. These proteins are the foundations of your skin and are the basis of your texture, strength and resilience.
I usually apply this right after cleansing my face (both morning and night). The main results that I’ve taken from this are that it’s added moisture (which is crucial for this time of year), softened my skin drastically and that it’s helped to tighten my pores.

What I Wore Wednesdays

As much as I love the loungewear lifestyle, I just had to take a moment to pretend, that going to my rooftop called for somewhat more of an elevated outfit.
My go to is definitely black, so to lighten up my look a bit, I added in a pop of an eclectic color. This is a huge trend this season which can be seen on Pre-Fall ’20 shows like Versace and Gucci. (Trends) This hat is great to add in a touch of fun, to an otherwise toned down outfit.
On top I have a white cropped top, which is an essential to have, as it pairs with just about anything. Layered over it is a button up blouse from one of my absolute favorite brands, Gold Hawk. The designer is known for combining femininity and elegance with touches of beautifully crafted detail. The quality as well as their timelessness will make these pieces your most treasured.
I am sure you’ve seen these just about everywhere, but the return of the biker short is back! I love love love the leather ones because they allow you to look a bit more dressed up in the comfort of a stretchy waistband (and who doesn’t love that?) I paired mine with sneakers but you could also choose a heel option for a night out. I’ve had my eye on these sneakers for a while! I love the fact that you have many options to pair them with, as they’re a neutral and the little tonal studs add a bit more character to the shoe.

Motivation Mondays

Hiii guys! It is a new week, filled with endless opportunities! A quote that I wanted to share with you all is from one of my absolute favorite books (and highly recommended!) Free Your Energy, by Sylvester McNutt;

“Life is a journey for us all. We all have ups and downs. All of us are human. But we are also the masters of our fate. We are the ones who decide how we are going to react to life.”

Not only does this pertain to our current situation worldwide, but every single person has or will experience their fair share of hardships, it is just an inevitable part of life. Only you and you alone can control your attitude, emotions and reactions. At the end of the day, you’re also the ones living with each of those. My advice to you would be to always look for the diamond lining to the situation, because I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. The next time you’re faced with a challenge, I encourage you to step away from the issue and really dive deep in thinking about what positives could come from the situation. Upon doing so, you would be surprised at how quickly your mindset changes about the difficulty of overcoming this challenge.

Friday Favorites

So last week I touched on my love for Japanese skincare products, and I figured that I would continue on with sharing them. Since I’ve started, I’ve literally become obsessed with the results that I’ve been seeing in my complexion. Along with the cleanser that I shared, this CC essence does WONDERS and should definitely be incorporated into your day to day. The most effective ingredient in this particular serum is L Ascorbic Acid, which is one of the most effective forms of Vitamin C. This is beneficial to fading dark spots, lowers melanin production, clears up acne, brightens the skin, reduces redness and heightens collagen. It also contains Vitamin E, which protects your skin against harmful UV rays.
I usually apply this after I use a softening conditioner, once a day, and then continue on with my face lotion.. etc. Just a little tip that I picked up, with any excess oil, rub it onto the tops of your hands as a prevention to wrinkles!
With that being said, this is definitely a more oily serum, so a lot goes a long way. My tubes usually last about 2.5 months and for $10, that’s totally worth it!
Have a fabulous weekend guys!

What I Wore Wednesdays

I was feeling the blues on this gloomy day in the city.
This season is all about pastels and, our feet are thanking us for this one, but a great sneaker!
I am such a sucker for a cozy oversized sweatshirt, it’s literally my home go to. With the acceptance of the whole “casual look” at the moment, you will definitely want to have some of these in your closet. ( I love to buy larger mens sizes- thrift stores tend to have the best finds!) This lace romper that I paired with the look adds a little feminine flare, but could also be substituted with a biker short.
As far as sneakers go for the upcoming seasons, I highly suggest having a great neutral-tone option that can work back to a variety of outfits. My go to is definitely a basic black converse but there are a ton of options on the market depending on your vibe.

Motivation Mondays

Happy Monday! As we begin a new week, I wanted to leave this quote here for anyone that needs it. “A beautiful day begins with a beautiful mindset”. Every single day, we wake up with the opportunity to start anew. It doesn’t matter what happened the day before or how you felt because this new day presents a clean slate for you to begin from. You and you alone can choose how you wish to spend your 24 hours and the mindset to go along with it, so what will you choose?

Friday Favorites

To kick start my Friday favorites, I figured I would share one of my absolute favorite products at the moment and an essential to anyone’s skin care routine. I’ve always been fascinated by Japanese beauty. For one, one of my grandmothers was Japanese and always had the most beautiful and flawless skin. I have often noticed that the Japanese culture always seems to have this effortless natural beauty to their looks. The Japanese have a nourishing philosophy in their skin care regime, emphasizing sun protection, thorough but gentle cleansing, and a variety of hydrating and moisturizing layers. Natural Aqua Gel Cure is one of Japan’s most coveted exfoliators and it is said that they sell a bottle every 12 seconds! I’ve been using this for about 3 months now and have noticed a drastic change in the appearance of my pores, radiance in my tone, clear of any blemishes and have found that my makeup looks so much smoother. The major results that are advertised however, help to aid in anti-aging, brightening effects and smoothening the skin.

What I Wore Wednesdays

Happy Wednesday guys! As we are all still in self isolation, I have found that it is important to give myself a day or two a week, to put on the glam, quarantine style. As someone who truly loves to get ready, this process always helps me to get into a good mindset and just genuinely makes me feel good. Currently, loungewear is having its moment and I can’t say that I’m hating it.
